Behind the Veil: Reflections, Gratitude & the Whisper of Spirit

As October fades and the veil grows thin, we step softly into November - a month of gratitude, reflection, and soulful awareness.
Halloween and its ancient roots in Samhain remind us that this season was never about fear; it was about reverence - a sacred pause between worlds.

Brief History of Samhain

Long before Halloween was marked by costumes and candy, Samhain was the Celtic New Year, celebrated at the midpoint between fall and winter.
It was believed that during this time, the veil between the living and the spirit world was at its thinnest. Fires were lit, offerings were made, and families gathered to honor ancestors and harvest the final fruits of the season.
Samhain marked both an ending and a beginning - a liminal moment, a breath between cycles.

Tarot & the Season of Reflection

Tarot, like Samhain, invites us to move through endings with grace and curiosity.
Each card becomes a mirror for what we’ve learned, what we’re ready to release, and what truths are ready to rise.
As we cross into November, the energies of Air and Water hum together - steady, grounding, emotional, and deeply introspective.
It’s a time to harvest the lessons of the year, celebrate growth, and give thanks for what remains.

In the Northern Hemisphere, this is the final turning inward before winter - the soul’s season of pause and reflection.
Let gratitude be your grounding, wisdom your harvest, and love the golden thread that weaves this season into peace.

A November Tarot Ritual for Gratitude

Light a candle.
Hold your deck close to your heart.
Take a deep breath and whisper:

“For the lessons that shaped me,
the hands that helped me,
and the spirit that carried me - thank you.”

Now, pull one card and place it face down - your blessing for the coming winter.
Let it rest until December begins. When you reveal it, may it reflect your growth, your gratitude, and your grace.

November whispers:
Be still. Give thanks. Gather what you’ve grown.
This is a month of reflection, release, and radiant gratitude.
Let the cards remind you that abundance isn’t always what you hold - it’s what you’ve learned to cherish.

A Scorpio’s Season of Stillness

As a Scorpio, this season feels like home - a time for deep introspection, transformation, and soulful retreat.
The air is crisp, the nights are long, and the call to slow down is irresistible.
There’s magic in this stillness: hot beverages steaming beside a flickering fire, kids back to school, cozy hoodies, and quiet nights under the stars wrapped in a warm blanket.
The world hums with busyness, yet inside, the spirit softens and turns inward.

This is where the soul work begins - quietly, intentionally, beneath the falling leaves.
